Nie je ťažké objaviť paralely s nedávnou históriou autorovej vlasti, hoci interpretácia zložitého a nejednoznačne vyznievajúceho príbehu je ponechaná na divákovi. Posledné zábery však výrečne vyjadrujú autorov pohľad na súčasné Rumunsko.

A tak Newtonovci nemôžu uveriť, že by bol ich pes taký poslušný, kým skutočný Beethoven spôsobí v bohatej a snobskej rodine úplnú katastrofu. Dokáže však do ich života vniesť niečo, čo im chýbalo: istú dávku uvoľnenosti a pozornosti pre Madison. Otázkou ale zostáva, či Beethoven a Michelangelo nájdu spôsob, ako sa vrátiť tam, kam patria...
