I tak má ale Shanova parta, sdružující sílu pěti slingerů, skoro namále, zatímco se řítí 99 jeskyněmi a hledá legendární Elementární slugy. Pětice Elementárních slugů, praslugů obdařených neobyčejnou silou, je pětice praotců všech dnešních slugů, kteří obývají Slugterru. Dostanou-li se do nepovolaných rukou, mohou Slugterru dohnat až na samý pokraj zkázy. Proto jsou Eli a přátelé - jak staří, tak noví, bez rozdílu - když zjistí, že jisté zločinné bratrstvo na Elementární slugy pořádá hon, ochotni bez váhání čelit strašlivému nebezpečí, strašlivějšímu než všechna dosavadní nebezpečí, která ohrožovala jejich svět.
